Procedure for application for Associate Society Status in IRPA
Any Society or Association consisting of at least 20 members wishing to affiliate with IRPA should request application forms from the Vice President of the Association. IRPA will be pleased to work with individuals who may be interested in forming a national or regional society, in countries or regions where there is no existing society or association.
To be considered for Associate Society status the group should be:
- an organisation of national or regional character (i.e. comprised of members from more than one country in the same geographical region);
- the most representative society in the country or region in the field of radiation protection; and
- ruled by a statute consistent with the IRPA Constitution.
Applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee, which is chaired by the Vice President, and its recommendations are presented to the Executive Council for approval.
The purpose of this guidance note is to summarize and explain:
- the organizational structure of the International Radiation Protection Association
- the criteria for acceptance as an Associate Society of IRPA
- the required information in an application for Associate Society status
- the admission procedure.
Additional information may be obtained from the Executive Officer or the Vice-President who is the Chairman of the Admissions Committee.
